Osun APC Receives Boost As Top PDP Member, Others Join Party
A former top member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Mrs Funmilayo Olasehinde-Mustapha has on Wednesday officially joined the ruling All Progressive Congress.
Olasehinde-Mustapha was received at the popular Freedom Park in Osogbo by the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, the party’s caretaker chairman, Gboyega Famodun and other leaders of the party.
Hon. Funmilayo, an ex- Special Adviser on Strategy and Planning to former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was joined by several other members of the PDP from her Ila Federal Constituency and beyond to officially declare their allegiance to the APC and its successes in future election.
She was also a former House of Assembly member under the PDP and a former council chairman.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Olasehinde-Mustapha said she left PDP because of its protracted crisis.
She noted that a party that could not fix its challenges could certainly not fix that of the State, adding that Oyetola’s achievements in just three years despite the financial challenges were worthy of emulation.
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun, was joined by his wife and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, including the Deputy Governor, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Patricia Etteh, former deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senate’s spokesperson, Senator Ajibola Bashiru and the party chairman, Gboyeha Famodun among others, to receive the defectors to APC.
