Osun Infrastructure Upgrades: Governor Adeleke Rolls Out Action Plans
….Assures citizens that his government will not borrow to fund projects
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has said his government financial plan for the State infrastructure upgrades is sustainable.
He stated this at the maiden edition of “Ipade Imole”, a public accountability platform where he gave account of his stewardship in the last ten month of his administration.
The governor disclosed that his administration has not borrowed, just as he assured the people of the state that it would not borrow to fund any projects.
He said “Our people should be rest assured that this administration has not and will not borrow to fund ongoing infrastructure upgrades. From bridges to dualisation of existing roads among other infrastructures, we are pursuing value for money and public private partnership. Our financial plan is sustainable.”
Adeleke also said the government is planning to construct additional 332 boreholes in other locations where there is none in all the political wards in Osun.
“Our administration conceived of 332 boreholes across the 332 political wards as an intervention measure. Each borehole costs one million, five hundred thousand naira. The boreholes are functioning and serving the immediate water needs of our people.”
On road and other infrastructure, the governor disclosed that all local governments and districts were factored into government plans and agenda.
“Our administration has commenced the implementation of imole solar project to light up the capital city. The process is ongoing.
“Our people should expect the following new projects: Dualisation of roads at two per senatorial districts; Flyover bridges at Osogbo and some other towns;
Street lights for newly constructed roads;
Second stream of 332 boreholes across wards; Commencement of Imole transport service; and Imole Housing Estate at 500 units per federal constituency,” he said.
