… Says APC has nothing to offer
Osun State PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, has expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke will win his re-election bid convincingly in 2026.
He stated this on Wednesday in Osogbo at a flagship programme of the Osun State chapter of Association of Veteran Journalists held at the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
According to Bisi, the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) has nothing to campaign with, citing the governor’s impressive performance in office.
“The Osun APC has nothing to campaign with — they only brought hardship to the people of Osun, and the people are not ready to accept them again,” Bisi said.
He highlighted Adeleke’s achievements, including the construction of dual carriageways and overhead bridges, saying, “We won before the inconclusive election in 2018. In 2022, we won hands down. Since then, Governor Adeleke has been performing wonders in Osun.”

Bisi also urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing local government crisis in the state, insisting that those elected under the PDP are the legitimate council executives.
“For the sake of national unity and peace, all government institutions we have served should respect the rule of law, check the actions of the Osun APC and their leaders, and ensure that the rightful council executives return to office while APC members occupying those positions are removed,” he added.
The PDP chair’s remarks come amid tensions between the PDP and APC in Osun State. APC chieftain Timothy Owoeye had earlier stated that Governor Adeleke is not welcome in the APC, saying, “The tenure of PDP is already terminated in Osun State. Come August 8, 2026, we will chase them away. There is no space for PDP and Adeleke in the APC.”
However, Adeleke’s aide, Olawale Rasheed, responded that President Tinubu’s democratic principles would prevent him from supporting any attempts to manipulate the electoral process.
In a related development, the APC has warned that only the Supreme Court can overturn the judgment reinstating the duly elected APC local government chairmen.
The party’s State Legal Adviser, Chief Adegoke Ogunsola, accused Adeleke’s administration of contempt of court and abuse of process, saying, “Any attempt by the government of Governor Adeleke and its PDP desperadoes to unleash mayhem… shall be vehemently resisted legally and may lead to breakdown of law and order”.
