Osun Monarchs Are Priceless To My Administration – Oyetola

…admonishes Obawara of Iwara Ife to make peace and unity of his domain watchwords

The Governor of Osun State, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has described royal fathers in the state as exemplary in conducts and behaviours in their day to day running of the affairs of their respective domains stressing that his government will continue to accord them due honour and respect.

Governor Oyetola stated this during the presentation of Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Oba Samuel Olusegun Adedire, the Obawara of Iwara Ife, in Ife East Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor who was represented by his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon.Rasaki Adeosun, noted that monarchs are veritable instruments of achieving peace and harmony between the government and the people.

The Osun Chief Executive states that
“The role of traditional rulers in any community can not be over emphasized as they serve as symbols of peace and stability.

“Against this background and many others which time may not permit me to state, the present administration under my watch has been resolutely committed and interested at all times in advancing the well being of our traditional rulers in the last four years.

“I must add that the feedback too has been very complimentary and mutually reciprocatory.

“I must equally add that it gladdens my heart that over the years in and outside our dear state of Osun, our monarchs have been our good ambassadors .” stated Mr Oyetola.

While admonishing the royal father’s to keep the ball rolling ,the governor further advised them to strive hard in maintaining peace and unity with their subjects and the people of the state at large .

The governor thereafter congratulated Oba Samuel Olusegun Adedire on his appointment as the traditional ruler of Obawara , governor Oyetola .

Through his special adviser on local government and chieftaincy affairs,Hon.Rasak Adeosun , Mr Oyetola charged the new monarch to make peace,unity and development of Iwara Ife in Life East local government ,his watchwords .

With these, the governor emphasized that the new monarch will make a positive difference for the people of the ancient town.

In his acceptance speech shortly after he was handed the staff of office and instrument of power by the governor through his Special Adviser on local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Oba Adedire appreciated the present administration in Osun under the leadership of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola for the honour and privilege of being counted worthy as a monarch.

The new monarch similarly appreciated his teaming subjects for their love and confidence which culminated into his eventual choice and subsequent appointment as the new Obawara of Iwara Ife.

He therefore pledged his total loyalty and commitment to bring developments like no other to the ancient town just as he sought further love and cooperation from his subjects and the people of Osun as a whole.

There were goodwill messages by eminent personalities from all walks of life wishing the new monarch a peaceful reign on the throne of his forebears .
