Oyetola Presents Staff of Office, Instrument of Appointment to Alaje Olopon Ajegunle Igangan-Ijesa

….says traditional rulers are critical stakeholder in development

The Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola has said traditional rulers are not only custodian of culture and tradition but also stakeholders in all things that are developmental to their domains.

Oyetola made the assertion on Wednesday during the presentation of Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyedunade Oluwabukola Akosile, as the Alaje Olopon Ajegunle Igangan-Ijesa.

The governor posited that, as a traditional rulers they are veritable link between the government and the people hence, the need to hold them in high esteem.

Oyetola who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adegboro Ilori Olokose, said the government would continue to accord the traditional rulers the deserved respect and support.

He acknowledged the support of traditional institutions to his administration, noting that it has been remarkably overwhelming.

“I want to implore the new monarch to work together with the respected monarchs in Ijesa land for the progress of the state and the people of the town must also support the newly installed monarch for the progress of their town.”

Oyetola however charged the people of the ancient town and its environment to be security conscious.

Speaking, the newly crowned monarch, appreciated the governor whose his administration has witnessed unprecedented support from the monarchs in the state.
