Minimum Wage: Kwara Labour Unions threaten industrial action

Joint Kwara Labour Congress has threatened to go on strike if the state government fails to implement the minimum wage of 30, 000 to all categories of workers in the state.

The Congress ordered its members to stay at home beginning from Tuesday, October 13 until they are directed to do otherwise by its leadership.

The release jointly signed by chairmen of the NLC,  TUC and JNC states that the industrial action will take effect after close of work on Monday.

Demands of the unions include, signing and implementation of the 30,000 minimum wage to all categories of workers at the state and local government levels which must also takes care of pensioners.

The statement warned members against flouting directive just as they are assured that the union will resist any forms of victimization from the government.
