Gov Adeleke’s Programmes, Projects Pro-people – Osun Lawmaker, Adeyemi
A member representing Obokun state constituency at Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Adewumi Adeyemi has said all programmes and projects embarked on by the Administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke are people oriented.
He expressed confidence that Adeleke would record resounding victory in the next governorship election in the State.
Hon. Adeyemi stated these during the 37th edition of a monthly programme tagged Frontliners, anchored by League of Osun Veteran Journalists, held at the Osun NUJ council in Osogbo.
The lawmaker said “what determines victory in an election is what the governor has been concentrating on.
He said the ruling party in the state is on top of its game with absolute concentration on security, infrastructure such as road networks across the state with a view to improving economic activities.
The lawmaker said there is no senatorial districts in the state that has not been touched in terms of infrastructure development, adding that all abandoned projects started by a different administrations which would have amounted to a waste of resources have been attended to by the Adeleke’s administration
He said governor Adeleke has made concrete efforts on sustainable palliatives and agricultural drive through the ministry of agriculture in terms of provision of seedlings and other farm imputs to farmers for food security
He said the People’s Democratic party in the state is neither jittery nor discouraged by activities of some politicians who are defecting from the party, saying those in that category were neither truly with the party right from time nor contributed to the success of the governor in the last election.
He said the Adeleke’s administration is more focused on people-oriented projects and welfare of citizens and could not be derailed by schemings or gimmicks of opposition party under the guise of any political movement, such as “ATUNTO” or any other.
He said many members from different political parties are genuinely joining the PDP in the State without any dust being raised by the party.
While speaking on relationship between the state former governor, Rauf Aregbesola and governor Adeleke, hon. Adeyemi said incumbent is an amiable and humane personality who relates freely with any person regardless of difference in ideology, religion, or political affiliations.
Speaking on his contribution to development in his constituency, he cited road rehabilitations, schools being equipped, and others infrastructure development, adding that the disability act which he sponsored at the legislative house, though affects citizens across the state, including residents of lbokun.
Chairman of the event, ace broadcaster, Olushola Ajala who noted that the relationship between the media and the legislature cannot be jettisoned, urged the duo to always work in synergy
to contribute positively to development and to always support any government that is committed to good governance.
In his remark, the NUJ chaiman, Was just Ajadosu who was represented by the council’s Secretary, Abiodun Aboderin, described journalists including the veterans in the state as vibrant and active, urging all to continue to uphold the tenets of holding government accountable for the betterment of the society.
