Prominent leaders of Action Democratic Party(ADP) in Osun State have declared their support for Dr Oyelami Saliu popularly called Orisunlagba.

Speaking on the declaration in Ikirun, ADP Vice Chairman and central senatorial leader, Honourable Tiamiyu Rahman Oreofero, who led party faithful to Dr Saliu described him as one of the leading aspirants for the top job of Osun governorship.

According to him, hundreds of their members across the state resolved to defect from ADP to support Dr Saliu in his party for the betterment of the majority of Osun people saying that the emergence of the renowned medical doctor will further strengthen the state of the living spring on the path of development .

“We are leaving Action Democratic Party, ADP, to join the body of Osun progressives which is swelling everyday to team up with a proven developmental leader . Orisunlagba is a mobiliser, a lover of the masses and a symbol of Osun uniqueness. He is visionary and reliable. We know some former Osun governorship candidates are saying he should lead the emerging strong coalition in Osun. We too are now ready to support him by moving into that ADC- coalition ahead of party primaries. By God’s grace, this 2022 NNPP gubernatorial candidate will now lead us and others to win from the primaries of this year to the general election of August next year.”

Oreofero further expressed his belief that Dr Saliu will not let down Osun people. Other Osun ADP leaders decamping with him include Mr Komolafe Adeniyi( State PRO),
Oyekanmi Felix Remi (Irewole Chairman), Obakasi Sunday ( State Organizing secretary),
(Alhaja Morufat Lawal( State Assistant Women Leader), Ọpẹ́yẹmí Folaranmi(Osogbo Chairman) and Oladipupo Okikiola, National Leader. Others are Hon. Olatunji Sunday Michael, Alhaja Fatima Olawale(State Welfare Officer) and Adeyemo Oloyede(Odo Otin Chairman).

Receiving the new Orísunlagba supporters, Dr Saliu Orisunlagba thanked them for the trust and confidence reposed in him and promised to remember them in the days of success. He then charged them to be prepared to face the task ahead. ” We will win by God’s grace but you have to work diligently and sincerely first. Then Osun will arise and shine. I must thank God by thanking you for your support.”

Oyelami further said, ” Tell my people that the plight of civil servants and retirees daily worries me. I am also disturbed by the high unemployment rate among Osun youth and willing women. The farmers are on my mind just like education and health.I am confident that this coalition will turn Osun around but you need to work with us in good faith first. As such, the dove of our collective struggle will soon spread its wings of peace and multi-sectoral development.”
