Sokoto Central Market Fire outbreak: Wike Visits, Donates N500million

Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has donated the sum of five hundred million naira to Sokoto State government to support the rebuild of the state central market that was destroyed by fire outbreak

Governor Wike was in Sokoto, to sympathised and commiserate with the government and people of Sokoto state over the unfortunate incident

Sixty percent of the market was was said to have bewn destroyed by the fire that started in parts of the market

Daily Mail learnt that over ten thousand traders were affected.

Wike described the incident as “unfortunate and regrettable at this critical time in the country”.

He later visited the Sultan of Sokoto to condole with him over the death of his brother and former Sokoto state commissioner for home affairs, Abubakar Jeli Abubakar.

He sympathised on behalf of the people of Rivers and its government with the Sultanate council and government of Sokoto state over these sad development.
