Plough Back To Your Root’ – Ooni Ogunwusi Charges Successful Nigerians
The Ooni of lfe, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has appealed to successful young Nigerians in various sectors, all over the world to retrace their roots and facilitate development in their communities.
This is even as the highly revered traditional ruler urged Nigerian youths to select right leaders as mentors and role models in the pursuit of their aspirations in life.
The monarch was speaking in his place when he played host to the group Operating Executive Officer of a telecommunication giant, Karl Olutokun Toriola, an indigene of Modakeke – ife.
He described Karl Toriola as a worthy son of the land and lauded him for his commitment to using his industry to facilitate development in various communities.
“While growing up, I used to have role models. It is a bout mentorship. There is model for everything as we cannot put something on nothing. I recommend bright young minds like our own Karl Toriola to all youths, they should look up to him and learn core lessons of life particularly about growth from him.
“For those who don’t know, Toriola’s achievements and good nature are true reflection of his good home especially his father who is known for peace and development between Ile-Ife and Modakeke communities. So our C.E.O. is an example of an apple that doesn’t fall far from its tree.
“He is our son who was born here in Ile-Ife, had his education up till tertiary level here and crowned it all with his productive marriage into the noble Omisakin family here in Ife. So we are proud of him and shall continue to celebrate him.
Speaking, Karl Toriola said the visit was to recognise the monarch for his display of exemplary leadership as well as his efforts in championing of youth development initiatives.
He said in its corporate social responsibility, the telecommunication company will strengthen its partnership with the monarch to facilitate more development in different communities.
Toriola also commended the Ooni for his preservation of ancestral legacies, particularly Yoruba culture, home and abroad, as well as his promotion of peace which has continued to encourage growth of businesses in the area.
“This visit is to thank our father for being good and equally see how best to grow our communities and their people. We have started with many activities and I am sure we will do more through collaboration going further.”
“The Ooni is an icon of greatness. He is providing dependable leadership for all descendants of Oduduwa particularly the youths globally, he’s an advocate of peace, and that is why he’s promoting peace.”
He appealed to other traditional rulers to emulate the Ooni in his youth and development initiatives to mitigate rate of unemployment among the youth and
for extension of prosperity to all and sundry.
