The House of Representatives member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State, Hon. Ajang Iliya, has defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development came on the heels of a similar defection by five LP members in the House just last week.

At Thursday’s plenary session, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas announced Iliya’s defection, citing the crisis in LP’s leadership and other related issues as the reasons behind this decision.

Iliya, in his letter, expressed his difficulty in aligning with LP’s stance on current issues.
