AIG Zone 11 Command, Gobum Assumes Office
Assistant Inspector General of Police Mukan Joseph Gobum has arrived Osogbo and assumed Office as AIG In-Charge of Zone 11 Command, comprising of Oyo State and Osun State Commands.
A statement by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, SP Ayeni Benjamin notes that, on assumption of office AIG Muka promised an open door policy as Community Policing is the ultimate guide for the next policing strategy.
AIG Gobum hails from kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State, Born on 21st June, 1962 in Amper Plateau State, he graduated from the prestigious Amadu Bello University Zaria with BA (Hon.) History, Enlisted in to The Nigeria Police Force on the 15th March, 1988.
He attended several professional courses among which are; Strategic Command Course, at Police Staff College Jos.
Train the Trainers Course, at Police Staff College Jos.
Diplomatic Protection Course, at the American International Law
Enforcement Academy, USA.
He has served in several Police Strategic Commands and Formations, such as Divisional Crime Officer, O/C Patrol and Guard, Area Commander, AC CID, DC Operations and DC Admin. before he was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in the year 2017, posted CP Border Patrol, served also as CP Special Fraud Unit, CP Airport Police Command, CP Bayelsa State Command and CP River State Command from where he was promoted Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to Zone 8 Lokoja, Kogi State.
He is a recipient of several Awards and Honors. An Alumnus of American International Law Enforcement Academy, USA. attended Peace Keeping Mission in Sudan, between 2007 and 2008, his strength and believe is in team work, proper planning and prayers to achieve a set goal.
