The proprietor of Alolade Oyinlola College Of Health Sciences & Information Technology, Okuku, Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has said the institution was envisioned to offer students an environment of innovation and creativity that inspires them to explore new ways of thinking and achieving.
The former governor of Osun State stated this on Friday during a press conference held on the campus college in Okuku to intimate the public and particularly, prospective students on its take off and subsequent commencement of academic activities.
He disclosed that all the take-off programmes have been accredited, and approved by all appropriate professional bodies, adding that the college is determined to equip the students with the skills needed to build their future.
He said “At AOCHSIT, students will gain practical knowledge and build relationships to help them excel in work and life. They will also be equipped with the skills needed to build their future. From orientation to graduation, students’ learning and their future will be at the heart of all we do. Our commitment is to help our students realize their potential and graduate to success.”
The proprietor also said the goals of the College was to “Build highly qualified health and technology talents to foster innovation, progress, and increase access to high-quality education for a broad group of learners ranging from those entering the post-secondary environment for the first time to those Health Sciences and Information Technology professionals and their allied counterparts who are already working.
“Programmes in the College are committed to developing and maintaining relevant, responsive, and stimulating learning opportunities that are community-based, globally and locally relevant, and offered in a visionary, professional environment conducive to learning and promotes health and wellness for all.”
Speaking, former Executive Secretary, National University Commission (NUC), Prof Peter Okebukola noted that the comparative advantage of the Alolade Oyinlola College of Health Sciences and Information Technology to others would be a top level human resources in the next six months.
Okebukola disclosed his readiness to be part of the institution as an adjunct lecturer to teach environmental education courses and bring into bear his wealth of experience to assist and encourage the students.
Also, the immediate past Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Eyitope Ogunmodede commended Prince Oyinlola’s commitment to not just investing in education of future generation but an area that the country needs most.
The college offers Diploma Programmes in nvironmental Health Technology; Health Information Technician; Medical Laboratory Technician and Community Health Extension Workers.
It also offers Certificate Courses in Health Care Technician; Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW) and Health Care Assistant.
