Ahead of next Saturday primary election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ila/ Boluwaduro/ Ifedayo Federal Constituency of Osun State has endorsed and adopted Governor Gboyega Oyetola as candidate for the July 16 governorship election.
This was contained in a Communique read the Deputy-speaker of the State House Of Assembly after a meeting of the constituency in Ila-orangun.
Leaders and members of the party in the constituency including, the Senator representing Osun Central at the Senate, Ajibola Basiru had converged on the private residence of the former interim chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande for the meeting.
They said the decision was made based on the evaluation and review of the governor’s performances since assumption of office.
They added that no individual among the other aspirants vying for the seat that can match the credential of Oyetola in experience and personality, adding that there is the need for continuity of the projects and programmes embarked upon by his administration.
“Having monitored, evaluated and reviewed the performances of His Excellency, Governor Gboyega Oyetola in office as the Executive Governor State of Osun hereby, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ila/ Boluwaduro/ Ifedayo Federal Constituency noted that the Governor has recorded outstanding performance in Office The name, Gboyega Oyetola, is on the lips of old and young; male and female, residents, indigene and non-indigene of the State and beyond. This is because the Governor has etched his names on the sand of time with his leadership qualities and managerial know-how.
“Considering that there is presently no individual among the array of aspirants to the office of the Executive Governor of the State of Osun. that can match the credential of the incumbent Governor, Isiaq Gboyega Oyetola in experience and personality and the need for continuity of people’s oriented projects and lofty programmes embarked upon by the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and also based on his unprecedented achievements antecedents as a lover of peace with a penchant for prudent management of resources, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Ila/ Boluwaduro/ Ifedayo/ Federal Constituency, hereby, adopt and endorse Governor Ishiaq Adegboyega Oyetola as the candidate of our great party, APC, in the forthcoming July 16th Governorship election in the State of Osun. Evidently, Governor Oyetola has proved doubting Thomases wrong. Many had written the Governor off, at the inception of his administration.
“Many doubted his leadership credentials and political astuteness. However, within a short span of time, the Governor in proving his worth, has turned the fortune of the state around despite the lean financial resources hat is available to the State. The Governor has impacted every facet of the economy, without relegating human capital development to the background.
“The responsive, transparent, resourceful Oyetola-led administration which is doggedly averse to corruption has brought about a phenomenal transformation across the length and breadth, of our dear state in an unprecedented manner Governor Oyetola has brought about multi-sectoral reforms in education. Owing to his commitment to the wellness and healthy living of his people, the Governor has rehabilitated over three hundred Primary Health Centers across the 332 wards in our state.
“Our workers are being paid as and when due while our Pensioners, no longer have to slump on queues before they are paid. Foods are being distributed on a monthly basis to the vulnerable among us through the Food Support Scheme. Other Social Intervention Programmes by the Government to create opportunities for our teeming youths and women in particular, are commendable. Our amiable Governor has stabilised the body polity and restored people’s confidence in governance As we speak, there is no single federal constituency in Osun State that is not overwhelmed by Governor Oyetola’s midas touch.
“The Governor has through prudent management of the meagre resources of the State, created hope and fulfilment of the party’s manifesto, thereby building virile and prosperous economy for the State. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, permit me to reel out some of the monumental achievements of Mr Governor in Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency, which is replicated in the remaining eight (8) federal constituencies across the state”, the communiqué read.
