As Nigeria celebrated Children’s Day yesterday, Alhaji Dr. Abdulfatai Kolawole, JP, the Atorise Eto Eko of Osogbo, extended his warmest greetings and congratulations to all children in the state.

In a statement released to commemorate the occasion, Dr. Kolawole emphasized the importance of supporting, guiding, and empowering children to ensure a brighter future for the nation.

To this end, Dr. Kolawole highlighted his initiative, the @Young Readers Club, aimed at nurturing a reading culture among the youth.

The platform, he said, is designed to raise future leaders, thinkers, innovators, and nation-builders. However, he stressed that equipping children with digital skills is equally crucial in today’s technology-driven society.

Speaking on prioritising Digital Literacy, Dr. Kolawole urged the Osun State Government to recruit well-trained, qualified teachers to teach digital skills in schools, citing the shift to digital public examinations.

“Our educational system must rise to meet the challenges of the times, and our children must not be left behind,” he emphasized.

The dignitary called on parents, teachers, leaders, and community members to work together to create an environment where children can dream, grow, and lead.

In his goodwill message, Dr. Kolawole wished the children, Osun State, and Nigeria long life, prosperity, and progress.
