Baba Akande at 86: Celebrating a Legacy of Visionary Leadership
The Baba Adeen of Osun State, Alhaji Abdulfatai Kolawole has lauded the extraordinary life of service, wisdom, and leadership of ex-interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC, Chief Bisi Akande.
This was contained in a heartfelt congratulatory message to the former governor of Osun State on his 86th birthday, personal signed and made available to Daily Mail by Baba Adını of Osun on Thursday.
Describing Chief Bisi Akande as a father figure and elder statesman, Alhaji Kolawole praised his unwavering integrity and dedication to Nigeria’s progress. “Baba Bisi Akande’s leadership journey is a shining example of loyalty, truth, and justice,” he noted.
Highlighting Chief Bisi Akande’s role as a founding father and first interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Kolawole commended his vision and commitment, which laid the foundation for the party’s enduring success.
Known affectionately as Baba Awon Omo Kekeke (Father of the Little Ones), Chief Bisi Akande’s legacy as a unifier and advocate for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria continues to inspire. “Even at 86, Baba remains a beacon of hope and a champion of democratic ideals,” Alhaji Kolawole added.
Reflecting on his tenure as Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Kolawole emphasized Chief Akande’s prudent governance, resource management, and landmark initiatives. Among these was the creation of the Modakeke Area Office on 1st April 2002, a historic move that fostered peace and mutual respect between the Ifes and Modakeke. “This bold step resolved decades-long tensions, earning Baba the respect and gratitude of the Modakeke people,” he said.
Alhaji Kolawole concluded with heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you, Baba, for your exemplary service to Osun State and Nigeria. May you enjoy many more years in good health and divine wisdom to continue guiding our state and nation.
