Breaking: DSS Confirms Emefiele’s Arrest

The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the arrest of suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele was reportedly arrested by DSS shortly after he was suspended by President Bola Tinubu.

But on Saturday, the Services, on its Twitter handle said Emefiele was not in its custody.

But DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya confirmed to on Saturday that Emefiele was arrested in Lagos, saying that a statement would be issued soon.

However, sources close to the suspended CBN governor said he had been detained at the DSS office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
