Contributions Of Media Veterans Vital For Good Governance – Alimi

The newly appointed Osun state Commissioner for Information and public enlightenment Barrister Kolapo Alimi has lauded Veteran Journalists for their untiring contributions to Nation building goals.
The Commissioner gave the commendation when he received executives and members of the Association on a courtesy visit.
Noting that the Association was the first professional body to pay him a courtesy visit since his appointment, Hon Alimi saluted the unwavering commitment of it’s members to build bridging initiatives between Government and the people through objective treatment of issues that guarantee well-being and effective delivery of democracy mandate of the people.
He disclosed his ministry’s readiness to partner with the Association in areas ranging from discourse,and analysis of Government policies to initiation of programs for feedback.
Earlier the Chairman of the Association, Prince Adepoju Atobatele congratulated Hon Kolapo Alimi on his appointment which he described as a vista of hope and collaboration between Veteran Journalists and the state Government.
Prince Atobatele requested the state government to put the Association of Veteran Journalists on Government protocol list, through invitation to government functions and programmes.
He also request the extension of government benefits to the Association in appointments, awards, honours and involvement of it’s members in the training of media personnel serving in different arms and levels of government.
The Courtesy Visit was attended by the permanent secretary, Mrs Abimbola Babatunde,Director public enlightenment Mr Moshood Suleiman and information officer of the ministry, Bisola Ariwodola.
