The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji said Osun State government has done very badly in terms of level of development under the present administration.

He said despite the skyrocketed funds accrued to the State from the federal government, not much visible development has been recorded by the Ademola Adeleke led administration.

He stated this in an interview with journalists in Ikire, the headquarters of Irewole local government area of the State during an event tagged ‘Relief Funds For Petty Traders’ organised by a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC in area.

The event also witnessed the jumping of ship by some member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to the APC.

Speaking, Oyebamiji said as ex-finance commissioner in Osun State, he expected the level of development across the State and in all sectors to be commensurate with the huge sum of money received in the past one and half years.

“As a finance expert, I have tried to x-ray this (Osun) government, its revenue is much more than what we got from the federal government when we were in the saddle. As we can see, we did much more works with that little amount of money than what obtains in the State today. So you can identify a prudent manager of resources and a manager that cannot handle finance very well.

“Ordinarily, in a State where we have PDP as the governor, we are not supposed to have hundreds of people like these decamping into APC, it is because of bad governance. It is just unfortunate that we have people who do not know how to prudently manage the resources of our State. What we are getting now in Osun as our own share of revenue from the federal government, Osun is supposed to be far better than it is” said NIWA boss.

The event which witnessed presentation of relief fund to four hundred pretty traders to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, had es beneficiaries who are mostly aged, widows and persons living with disabilities selected from different communities in the local Government.

Speaking during the presentation of the cash to the beneficiaries, the donor, Adekunle Fadiran expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms would soon pay off and the country would get better for it.

The Party also received some members of the PDP into its fold in Ikire just as it unveils its chairmanship and councillorship candidates for next year’s Local Government election in the state.
