Students of the federal Polytechnic, Ede in Osun State have prevent management and staff of the Institution from moving out of the Institution.

The prolonged misunderstanding between the management and the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP sparked the protest.

Our correspondent reports that entrance and exit gates of the institution have been shut by the students for more 48 hours now preventing both human and vehicular movement at both the North and South gate of the institutions.

Staff vehicles packed on the campus since Tuesday morning cannot be taken out due the shutdown.

The students carried placards with different inscriptions, demanding immediate commencement of lectures and other academic activities.

They vowed not to open the gates until their demands are met.

The management had issued a statement on Wednesday morning ordering the students to vacate the campus with immediate effect.

The school Public Relations Officer, Shola Lawal said the management was on top of the situation adding that the issue would be resolved in due course.
