The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Pelumi Ojo has urged students of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), to combine education with innovation, technology, leadership roles, and extracurricular activities while still in school.
He made that call during a one‑day seminar organized by the students’ body tagged “Renaissance” to mark TEDxUNIOSUN 2025, aimed at encouraging students to discover and implement skills and ideas that showcase their talents.
Speaking at the event Hon. Ojo, stressed that students and youth should be conscious of their environment and recognize that waste is no longer “mere waste.”
He urged students to turn waste into wealth, noting that this can improve their living environment and become a potential source of income.
Another speaker, Adeyemi Adewumi, advised students not to let procrastination overwhelm any ideas they possess.
Samuel, convener of TEDxUNIOSUN 2025, said the program is an annual event designed to inspire students to pursue their passions, even if its differ from their academic disciplines.
Beneficiaries and participants stated that they would begin acting on ideas and innovations they have conceived.
