Ex-Health Minister Adewole, a symbol of humility in and outside call of duty – By Gani Adeniran

Happy birthday and congratulations to *Prof Isaac F Adewole*, our former Vice Chancellor and Ex Minister of Health. I hail and salute you from the depth of my heart for your service to humanity and genuine commitment to the welfare of people in and outside the call of duty.

I also bear veritable testimonials to your goodness and your relevance to my life and that of my children as I did last year. I cannot be an ingrate sir. To be sure, sometimes I disagree with you and I disagree with you with others on a number of occasions and I even confronted you in the Governing Council as VC on issues that I felt strongly about.

But oftentimes, you disarmed me with your coolness and calmness and show of love in return even if it was laced with politics! You are a human being and you have your failings. I shall have more to say about you in the near future.

I publicly own up to your moral support and financial generosity at difficult times when I had to invade your privacy without prior notice! Many happy returns of the day, long life and sustained prosperity.

May you continue to live in God’s glory, safety, sound health and protection. Ayun lo, ayun bo, lowo nlo si enu. Gbogbo igi t’elegbede bafo kan, didun nii dun. Toba di amodun ki e fi aiku d’egbara. IFA, eera ko fe poporo denu, omo araiye le o.

You will continue to triumph, sir. Ire o.
