The Chairman of the Forum of the Department of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture paid a courtesy visit to the Osun State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in his office. The visit aimed to familiarize the NUJ Chairman with the department’s progress and explore opportunities for collaboration in promoting prompt information dissemination to the grassroots.

Mr. Wasiu Ajadosu, the NUJ Chairman, expressed gratitude to the Forum Chairman, Mr. Jamiu Ibitoye, for establishing the department, urging him to continue the good work. Ajadosu emphasized the importance of working in tandem with the state government’s policies, propagating government activities at the grassroots level.

In response, Mr. Ibitoye thanked the NUJ Chairman for welcoming the new department and urged him to expedite collaboration with the department. This meeting marks a significant step towards fostering a strong partnership between the department and the NUJ, ultimately promoting effective information dissemination in Osun State.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate the exchange of ideas and resources between the department and the NUJ. This partnership will enable the department to tap into the NUJ’s expertise in information dissemination, while the NUJ will benefit from the department’s resources and infrastructure.

As a result of this meeting, both parties have agreed to establish a joint committee to oversee the implementation of their collaborative efforts. The committee will be responsible for identifying areas of cooperation, developing strategies for information dissemination, and monitoring progress.

The establishment of this partnership is a significant milestone in the department’s efforts to promote effective information dissemination in Osun State. By working together, the department and the NUJ can ensure that accurate and timely information reaches the grassroots, empowering citizens to make informed decisions and participate actively in the state’s development.
