Gospel Singer Set To Dedicate Psalms Translated Into Hausa, Igbo

…calls for peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups in Nigeria
For the second time in the recent years, a gospel singer, Evangelist John Kola-Idowu, has successfully translated Psalms 1-150 in Hausa and Igbo languages.
This followed the successful translation of Psalm 1-150 into Yoruba language and dedication in the previous year.
Evangelist John Kola-Idowu was speaking at a press conference held in Osogbo ahead of the dedication of the latest feat.
He hinted that the target was to translate the 150 Psalms into 200 languages worldwide, thereby having 30,000 songs before the year 2035.
He described as a success no one has achieved by successfully translating the Chapter into Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo, hoping to capture all 27 major Bible-written languages in Nigeria, as world languages are also not an exception.
He said, “Today, we are witnessing a powerful fulfillment of this scripture as we dedicate the psalms in Hausa and Igbo, making them more accessible to millions of people across our great nation. This is more than just a translation; it is a bridge that connects hearts, strengthens faith, and fosters peace among diverse ethnic groups in Nigeria.”
“Nigeria is a richly diverse country, blessed with multiple languages and cultures. But beyond these differences, we are one people under God. By making the song psalms available in 27 languages into which the bible has been translated; three of which have already been completed (i.e. Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and English) we are breaking barriers and uniting people in the worship of the lord our savior.”
According to him, with the book of Psalms now available in Hausa and Igbo, young people must be encouraged to embrace it for spiritual upliftment.
This, according to him, would later transcend to positive change in reality.
“As we are about to dedicate Psalms 1-150 in Hausa and Igbo, let this be a moment of renewal for our nation.
“Let us use these sacred songs to promote love and unity instead of hatred, violence and fear,” he said.
The cleric urged Nigerians to shun any form of religious discrimination that could hinder growth and development in the country.
He noted that the book of Psalms would give strength, wisdom and understanding to those in authority and every Nigerian, if adhered to and well kept.
Evangelist Idowu appealed to Nigerians to always pray for leaders in authority, asking God to direct the affairs of the country.
The dedication of Psalms 1-150 in Hausa and Igbo language is scheduled to be held on the 2
