Herdsmen entering Kano must have police clearance – CP Dikko
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko has said herdsmen must get police clearance before entering the state
He said the move by the authorities in the state is a security measure to ensure peace is maintained in the city.
The commissioner of police explained that herdsmen must get clearance from the police command in their current domain showing they are leaving for Kano.
Dikko spoke while briefing journalists shortly after an emergency security meeting with heads of security agencies at his office on Wednesday.
He said any herdsman that enters Kano without the clearance would be turned back.
He noted that the decision was part of the security arrangements that have been made by his command in a bid to maintain peace and security in the state.
“There must be a sort of letter, showing that they are coming to Kano from that state. So, anyone who comes without clearance from our police formations, from the state they are coming from, will definitely be stopped and turned back to where they came from.” Dikko said.
