Nigeria as nation is need of healing only through divine intervention of God in all aspects of life.

Wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola stated this on Tuesday at the National Prayer Session held at the State Government House, Osogbo.

The interreligious prayer session was at the instance of the resolve of Nigerian Governors Wives Forum (NGWF) with a view to seek God’s intervention in finding lasting solution to insecurity in the country.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs Oyetola who noted that security challenges have affected all facet of life in Nigeria stated that no part of the country that can afford to ignore the situation.

She said, “The challenge of insecurity has continued to assume various dimensions. They are dimensions which affect every aspect of our daily living. This development has raised concern for every Nigerian. This is the reason why we, (the Nigerian Governors Wives Forum (NGWF) have resolved to have this country-wide program of prayer.

“I am happy that our women in Osun have responded to this call. I thank you for this. There is no part of this country that can afford to ignore the situation of insecurity in the country today. We all need to approach the Almighty God to urgently change the direction of events in our nation and make us healthy again.”

The First Lady called on all Nigerians to have a change of attitude and approach to issues that affect the country.

“Let us change our attitude in relation to one another, in relation to community affairs, in relation to our state affairs and in relation to our national affairs. Yes, Nigeria is a nation with large number of churches, mosques, and homes of traditional religions. It is also a fact that Nigeria is one of the nations that seriously need healing in all aspects of life. This healing can come only through divine intervention of God.” Mrs. Oyetola said.

She added “We should begin to imbue our children with sense of dignity, love, and service to the community. This will generate significant wealth to our communities and our homes. It would generate peace of mind and safety. It happened before in our nation. We can make it happen again.”

In a lecture delivered by a former Commissioner of Information and State Director of National Orientation Agency, Mr. Oluremi Wilson, Nigerians were enjoined to be wary of sharing messages with decisive tendencies to ensure peace and tranquility in the country.

She maintained that unity of the country would be better for Nigerians calling on secessionists to have a rethink.

Also speaking, Mrs. Latifat Kolawole urged political leaders to always find out where to improve on the lives of those they govern, saying this would assist in building their trust and have a peaceful society.

Highlights of the event were prayer sessions in both Islamic and Christian ways for lasting solution to insecurity in the country.
