Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade’s Reception: “Massive reassurance of support for our government’ – Gov Oyetola
The Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola said on Tuesday that his administration is being reassured on a daily basis, the support of the people of the State.
He stated this during his strategic engagement tour of Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade federal constituency of the State.
Oyetola whose first port of call was the palaces of traditional rulers of Ikire, Apomu and Gbongan the headquarters of Irewole, Isokan and Ayedaade local government areas of the state to seek their blessing and continued support noted that the visit was strategic to remind the people that the government has them in mind.
He said his administration values the supports that is being enjoyed from the people and would never take them for granted.
He noted that the engagement tour was aimed at further strengthening the existing unity among the loyalists of the ruling party, thus exposing them to the necessity to ensure victory for the party in all elections.
“We came purposefully to talk to our party leaders and members so as to formally inform them of our intention to recontest.
“I am happy today that we have a lot to point to as our achievements in the state in general and Irewole, Ayedade and Isokan in particular. Be it health sector, infrastructure, education, security and agriculture, we have done well to bring about the desired development and transformation,” he added.
Speaking on the significance of the visit, the State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Prince Gboyega Famodun said the reception of the Governor by the people of the various local government areas was appreciated, thanking the party members and leadership for leaving up to expectations.
He said “it is noteworthy to state that despite the fact that exercise was not a political campaign, still there were massive turnouts in the constituency, this shows that the APC is popular here”
Also speaking, former lawmaker who represented the constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Ayo Omidiran said Governor Oyetola’s performance places him on a good pedestal to seek reelection.
“We are happy to receive the Governor in this Federal constituency, as you can see people turned out in their numbers. The Gov has done well to again seek the mandate of our people and we are ready to reelect him,” Omidiran said.
Reacting to the governor’s visit, one of the leaders of APC in the constituency particular, Ayedaade local government, Dr. Victor Olaniyi said the turnout speaks volume of governor Oyetola’s popularity.
He said, “the Governor has never lost any popularity here, we are solidly behind him and if there should be election today he’s going to record 90% of the total votes.”
The next in line on the engagement tour is Ife East, Central local government and Modakeke Area council.
