The expansive modakeke civic centre hosted an inspiring 3-in-ONE gathering of a cross section of the community in  celebration of education, empowerment, and development. The event graced by dignitaries, including His Royal Majesty Oba ( Dr) Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, the Ogunsua of Modakeke, as well as the Seriki of the Hausa community in Modakeke and the Iyalojas, alongside local leaders, educators, and community members.

A key highlight of the day was the launch of the Young Readers Club for secondary schools in Modakeke. The event initiator, Oluomo and Yeye Oluomo of Modakeke, Alhaji (Dr) Abdulfatai Adesina Kolawole JP, distributed books to students and emphasized the importance of a strong reading culture for personal and academic growth. Alhaji Kolawole committed to visiting schools to support students in developing a love for reading.

In his address, Oba Olubiyi Toriola, Ogunsua of Modakeke, praised Alhaji Kolawole for his generosity, urging others to follow his example. He acknowledged Kolawole’s dedication to the community as a legacy from his late father and encouraged Modakeke’s youth to embrace reading as a path to knowledge and progress.

The event also included an Empowerment Program, providing selected community members with support funds aimed at promoting economic self-sufficiency. This initiative reflected a strong commitment to uplifting the Modakeke community and creating new opportunities for growth.

Following the Young Readers Club launch and empowerment program, attendees moved to Oba Adedoyin Market, where Oba Olubiyi Toriola and community leaders commissioned new public toilets, enhancing the market’s infrastructure and overall environment.

The 3-in-ONE event celebrated unity, growth, and shared values within Modakeke, laying a strong foundation for continued development, cooperation, and progress across the community.
