Nationwide Protest: Baba Adinni of Osun, Kolawole Calls For Peaceful Solution, Urges Calm

Alhaji Fatai Kolawole

With a nationwide protest planned for Thursday, Baba Adinni of Osun State, Alhaji Abdulfatai Kolawole has called for peace and urged Nigerians to exercise patience during these challenging times.

Recognising the deep frustrations and economic hardships faced by many, he emphasized addressing grievances through peaceful and constructive means rather than protest.

In a statement signed and personally delivered to Daily Mail on Tuesday, Baba Adinni acknowledged the right to express discontent but warned against actions that could lead to violence or property destruction.

He referenced the 2020 EndSARS protests and recent protests in Kenya, highlighting the potential for violence and further hardships.

He warned that some groups might have ulterior motives for the protest, which could harm communities and hinder progress.

Alhaji Kolawole emphasized the need for unity, cooperation, dialogue, and strategic actions over immediate protests.

He assured that recent economic measures are being implemented to address specific concerns such as inflation, unemployment, and fuel prices, stressing the importance of patience and perseverance.

Alhaji Kolawole also stressed the need for prayers and patience instead of protests, citing the promise of Allah in the Holy Quran, Surah An-Nahl, 16:97, states: “Whoever does good deeds, whether male or female, and is a believer, We will certainly grant them a good life and reward them according to the best of their actions.”

He appealed to the public to channel their energy into peaceful advocacy and constructive engagement with authorities, stressing the need for empathy and understanding to build a stronger, more resilient nation.

Kolawole’s message is clear: Seek peace, exercise patience, and engage constructively for the betterment of all Nigerians.
