‘Nobody was abducted in Osun’ – Omipidan, Says Sowore lied against Governor Oyetola
The Chief Press Secretary, CPS to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Ismail Omipidan has said the leader of the #RevolutionNow Movement lied against his principal.
Sowore had on Friday 7th, November, 2020 alleged that some thugs purportedly sponsored by the state Governor attacked members of #RevolutionNow on their way to a press conference, claiming that their whereabouts was unknown.
But Omipidan branded Sowore a lair whose intent was to blackmail the Governor as nobody was abducted
He said “Omoyele Sowore has flagged off his lies and blackmail against Governor Gboyega Oyetola morning. Nobody has been abducted”.
“These same people he claimed were abducted had issued a release this morning. If they were abducted as he claimed, that would have been the focus of their release”.
“But nothing of such was mentioned in the said release”.
The Chief Press Secretary recalled that “Sowore had claimed that Bakare was abducted by security operatives on October 17, whereas Bakare only went into hiding knowing the implication of the role he played in the attempt on the life of Governor Oyetola”.
“If, in actual fact, Bakare was abducted, why did Sowore not tell the world when he was eventually released then? He has started peddling same old lies again. I pray Nigerians will hold him accountable this time”.
“Thank God he did not refer to them today as #EndSARS protesters. He is talking about revolution now, a vindication of our earlier position that the protest was hijacked for pecuniary gains” he said.
