The Coronation and presentation of the staff of office to the new Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, Ajibise Ogo 1, will hold on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Adedayo release signed by Chief Adedayo Ojo on behalf of Ogunsua Palace Media Committee stated that the ceremony would take place at the Modakeke Civic Centre
It added that “The landmark royal coronation event will be performed by His Excellency, the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola supported by members of the Osun State Executive Council.”
According to the release, the Royal Father of the Day and Chief Host of the Coronation Event, His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni Adimula, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, would lead other royal fathers and traditional rulers from across the country to the historic event.
Oba Toriola who would be crowned as the 20th Ogunsua had been in the line to the throne for 43 years. He succeeded Oba Moses Oyediran of the Ajombadi family who joined his ancestors a few months ago.
Reacting to the news, Oba Toriola expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His grace upon him, his family and the entire Modakeke community.
The elated Kabiyesi also thanked His Excellency, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, for his approval of the recommendation of the Chiefs while applauding His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife who is the consenting authority.
Oba Toriola acknowledged the co-operation of Modakeke palace chiefs, the leadership of the Modakeke Progressives Union (MPU) and the entire community at home and in the diaspora.
“I am elated with the news of my coronation and presentation of my Staff of Office by the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who is a lover of our community.
“To God be the glory for the good news which is a source of collective joy as we have all been looking forward to it.
“May God Almighty continue to guide us, protect us and provide us with the necessary wherewithal to make the occasion a grand one”, Oba Toriola prayed, Ogunsua stated.
