Olowu Of Kuta Invested As NUJ OSBC Chapel Life Patron, Advocates Promotion Of Peace, Unity Among Nigerians
The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Makama has warned political leaders against the use of divisive antics capable of triggering disunity and avoidable hostility in the country,
The monarch also urged media practitioners to promote reports with tendencies to deescalate crisis in order to deepen peace and unity among all citizens.
Oba Adekunle Makama was speaking in Osogbo during his investiture as the life patron of the NUJ, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, OSBC chapel.
He said that justice, equity and fairness must be upheld in the affairs of governance at all levels to enthrone sustainable peace and unity,

Oba Adekunle Makama was speaking in Osogbo during his investiture as the life patron of the NUJ, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, OSBC chapel.
He noted that justice, equity and fairness must be upheld in the affairs of governance at all levels to enthrone sustainable peace and unity,
“I want to urge all journalists to unite Nigerians. Nothing pays us as a united entity but there should be justice, equity and fairness. Endeavour to propagate common ideals that will enhance oneness under justice, fairness and equity. I dedicate this honour to Ambassador T.Y. Buratai and Nigeria Army at large,” the traditional ruler declared.
Oba Adekunle Makama appreciated the Osun NUJ, OSBC chapel for the honour bestowed on him and promised to live up to all expectations.
Representative of the Nigeria’s Ambassador of to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai called for recognition of the traditional institution in the quest for securing the society as well as entrenching peace in the country.
Buratai, who chaired the investiture ceremony, described Oba Makama as a bridge builder whose quest for peace and development in his kingdom and Nigeria was unparalleled.
He said “His patriotism and kind disposition to the military and security agencies in Nigeria is unquantifiable. This and many other qualities endeared him to all Nigerians and peace-loving people across the world”.
“I therefore, call for more recognition of our royal fathers and traditional rulers in society given the immense role they play in the society. This will enhance more understanding, peace and security in our country.”
While describing the investiture of Olowu as well deserved, Buratai said the monarch would, no doubt, impact positively on the corporation and its community, citing development he has brought to his community and the state, as well as his patriotism to the nation
Chairman, NUJ, OSBC chapel, Tunde Adeyemo premised the choice of the monarch as life patron on the need to awaken the vision of the broadcasting corporation and to add value to its progressive ideas for socioeconomic and political transformation.
Adeyemo said the monarch is endowed with uncommon ingenuity and has the wherewithal to help the corporation achieve its mission and vision.
