One Person Feared Dead As Suspected Thugs Clash At Sabo Community in Osogbo

At least one person was killed while some others sustained injuries during an attack by suspected thugs on Sabo Community in Osogbo on Friday morning.

The suspected thugs were said to be having a candle night in honour of one of their colleague who died following a clash that ensued during a carnival at Sabo Community on Thursday evening

They were also alleged to have burnt goods belonging to some members of the Community early Friday morning.

Our correspondent reports that the incident has led to closure of businesses in the area while youths also set burnfires in different streets in the preventing free movement of people and vehicles.

Special adviser to the Governor on Security, Abiodun Ige, and the Commandant of Amotekun in the state, Amitolu Shittu are currently engaging warring parties to resolve the matter.

Though the cause of the incident is still not clear, findings revealed that some injured persons have been taken to hospital in the vicinity for medical attention

As at the time of filling this report, combined security Operatives have taken over Sabo Community to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

The state Police Public Relations officer, Yemisi Opalola says peace is returning to the community.
