The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has restated commitment to serving humanity with all that God blesses him with.
Oba Ogunwusi spoke at the unveiling of Ojaja university, Ile-Ife campus, Osun State on Saturday.
The highly revered traditional rule stressed the need for the privileged individuals to do more of legacy projects for their people.
He said “what is it is in this world if you cannot create a legacy for yourself. Wealth can come and go, the only thing you can give is legacy . Everything will finish, wealth will finish.
“I want to thank all of you because this is the height of my 10 years coronation celebration, the unveiling of Ojaja university, Ile-Ife.
“The unveiling of Ojaja University,Ile-Ife is a very long route started from Eyenkorin, Ilorin, Kwara State and I told the vice chancellor that Engr. Akpan started Crown Hill University and brought me on board. He told me that he couldn’t continue the school, and I said I had this mission too that someday I will set up Ojaja university. Rather for the university to completely collapse, I took it up upon myself exactly 5 years ago.”
Speaking, the sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar lauded Oba Ogunwusi for his contributions to his domain, Osun state and the country’s progress and development.
In his speech, the Pro-chancellor and chairman of Governing Council, Ojaja University, Prof. Lere Baale, said the school is poised to compete globally, collaborate internally and produce leaders for Africa and the world.
The turning of the sod of the Ile-ife campus of Ojaja university was part of activities lined up for the 10th anniversary celebrations of Ooni Ogunwusi’s ascension to the throne of Oduduwa.
The event was attended by foremost traditional rulers including, Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun, the Osemowe of Ondo, Deji of Akure, Olowo of Owo and a host of others.
