In a heart-warming gesture reflecting the compassion and royal benevolence of the House of Oduduwa, Princess Adewamiwa Ogunwusi, daughter of the Ooni of Ife, CFR, on Monday, extended life-changing support to indigent pupils of St. Peter’s Iremo and St. Paul’s Ayegbaju, Ilode.

The young princess, inspired by the philanthropic legacy of her father, visited the two schools to distribute school bags and exercise books as part of activities marking the 10th coronation anniversary of the Oonirisa on the sacred throne of his forebears. The visit was more than a donation but moment of hope, joy and connection between royalty and its youngest subjects.

Speaking during the outreach, Princess Adewamiwa emphasized her desire to see young minds like hers enjoy quality and accessible education, which she described as the greatest tool for breaking societal barriers and nurturing future leaders.

She appealed to governments at all levels, non-governmental organizations, multinationals and well-meaning individuals to increase their investments, budgetary allocations, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions in Nigeria’s education sector, noting that children from less privileged backgrounds deserve equal opportunities to thrive.

A teacher from St. Paul’s Ayegbaju, Mrs. Adeyemi Kehinde, who spoke on behalf of the two schools, expressed deep gratitude to Princess Adewamiwa and the Ooni for their sustained philanthropic gestures targeted at uplifting children of the poor.

She described the visit as “an answer to long-standing prayers,” especially as it provided an opportunity to transmit an urgent message to the throne.

Mrs. Adeyemi appealed for the intervention of the Arole Oduduwa in renovating the schools, explaining that dilapidated roofing sheets and weakened structures pose serious risks to students’ safety.

She prayed for Princess Adewamiwa, declaring that she would rise even higher than her father, while also wishing the Ooni more years of wisdom, strength, wealth, and divine guidance as he leads the Yoruba nation toward a greater future.

The visit ended on an emotional note as excited children surrounded the princess with songs, smiles, and heartfelt prayers for her and her father.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, a reflection of how meaningful the gesture was to the young beneficiaries.

Princess Adewamiwa’s act of kindness stands as one of the many highlights of the 10th coronation anniversary celebrations showcasing not only the continued greatness of the Oduduwa dynasty but also the blossoming of a new generation committed to service, compassion and nation-building.
