The National Board for Technical Education(NBTE) has accredited 6 new course for the Osun State College of Technology, OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa.

The NBTE, during the accreditation visit also reaccredited an already existing course in the institution.

The newly reaccredited courses by the NBTE for OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa include: H.N.D in Health Information Management, N.D in Medical Imaging and X-ray Technology, H.N.D in Dental Therapy and N.D in Dental Surgery Technology.

He said the school management has indeed showed that they are ready to kick start the running of the new courses for the benefit of the society.

While stressing that the exercise of the National Board for Technical Education is not a witch-hunt, Mr Tanko said rigorous inspection before accreditation is done to ensure that laid down procedures are followed by tertiary institutions.

In his words, “while going round to inspect facilities in the various departments I can see that the school is really improving. The school looks set and ready to start running the new courses.

“If we want our educational system and Nigeria at large to improve and to secure the future, then we need to get it right while giving approval for running of courses in our tertiary institutions and that is the reason for the accreditation visit by NBTE”. He stated.

In an address, the Provost, Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem expressed his determination to continue to improve the school and produce graduates who can compete with their peers from any part of the world.
