Osun 2022: Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency APC Drops ‘West L’okan’ Agenda, Declares Support For Oyetola’s Second Term Ambition
The Leadership and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Ede federal constituency of Osun state have declared support for Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s second term ambition.
This was disclosed on Tuesday at a press conference addressed in Ido-Osun by the constituency Leader, Alhaji Gbadebo Ajo.
In his address, Alhaji Ajao said the agitation to power to shift to the West Senatorial District of the state in 2018 was borne out of marginalization of the Zone under the previous administration.
He said most of the issues that led to ‘West L’okan’ translating to ‘it is the turn of the west’ have been positively attended to by the incumbent Governor.
He said “our agitations in 2018 tagged WEST LOKAN” was borne out of perceived and adjudged marginalization and total neglect in the preceding years which served as fuelling pads for for the movement.”
He disclosed that members of the party in the Federal constituency which comprises Ede North and South, Egbedore and Ejigbo local government have dropped the agenda in view of various developments that have greeted the Zone in the last 3 years of Oyetola’s administration.
Alaji Ajao said wide consultations were made across all divides in the constituency before the decision to support the governor was taken.
He added that whoever nurses the ambition of contesting in the party’s governorship primary from the zone with the incumbent Governor ‘is on his own’ and not known to the stakeholders and leadership of the party in the area.
“The Election of Alh. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola with his pragmatic, all- inclusive, BOTTOM-UP approach and Sterling administrative style of his administration have brought solace and comfort to our federal constituency in many facet and spheres including and not limited to education, Health, Security, massive infrastructural development, welfarism, party rejuvenation, prompt and timely payment of full salaries and approval of minimum wage across board remain convincing proofs while his Excellency Alh. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola should be given our unwavering support for his re-election come July 16th 2022
“Some achievements carried out by this administration include 25km Ede to Ara Junction road, reconstruction of ldo-Osun township to Ara Junction, rehabilitation of Ofatedo road, rehabilitation of Akoda junction to Gada Ede, among others constructed by Oyetola across other parts of the state, he stated.
Alhaji Ajao also applauded Oyetola’s latest approval of construction and rehabilitation of roads in different parts of the state particularly, in the west senatorial district.
“Alh. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola also announced few days ago the approval of reconstruction of Lameco to Agunbeleqo -Okini- Ilobu – ifon road construction of Hallelujah road networks and reconstruction of Okinni township road the most recent if Oyetola’s administration collaborative effort with Naigeria Air Force towards developing the Ido Osun airport corridor are yielding positive results with the establishment of an Airforce Base in Ido Osun” he said.
The event was attended by members and leaders of the party including chairmen of various councils in the federal constituency from Ede north, Ede south, Egbedore and Ejigbo local government areas.
