Osun 2022 Guber: Olufemi emerges ADC candidate, pledges to be instrument of change for better Osun
The newly elected candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for the July 16 governorship election in Osun State, Ifedola Olufemi has expressed readiness to run an open door administration if elected.
He made the pledge in his acceptance speech shortly after being sworn in by the State Primary election committee of the party in Osogbo, the State capital.
Olufemi emerged the candidate of Osun ADC through a voice vote affirmation conducted by a 5-man Primary Election committee headed by its Chairman, Ibrahim Suleiman and supervised by the Independent National Electoral COmmission, INEC.

Speaking, Olufemi said his decision to contest was borne out of his passion to be an instrument of a better Osun as a state and as a people.
He charged members of the party to go back to their various constituencies to canvass support for the party and sell its manifesto to the people of the State.
“I decided to vie for the governorship position because I will be an instrument to change Osun state to a better for everybody. I mean indeed delighted to have been given the mandate to be flag bearer of our party.
“If by July 16th, 2022 I am the governor, I will make sure that the agricultural, health, education, environment and housing sectors are transformed. ADC will simplify the processes for acquisition of land for building purposes.
“I therefore charge all members of our to go back to their respective towns to canvass votes and sell our manifesto to the electorate. This is a collective task for all of that are card carrying members of ADC. I assure you of my government open door administration if elected”, Olufemi stated.
Chairman of the primary election committee, Ibrahim Suleiman said the candidate was able to emerge in line with the party’s Constitution, through voice vote affirmation by the over 350 delegates from across the state, being the only contestant.
He declared that the ADC “is very ready to contest and win” the governorship election come July 16, this year.
Suleiman said the two major political parties in Nigeria have failed to provide the necessary leadership in Nigeria, hence the need to do away with them.
He said “ADC is ready to provide the necessary and much needed leadership that the people need. Nigeria is so blessed and have all what it takes to compete favourably with the Western world, all what we need is for the right people to be at the helms of affairs. We are ready to serve the people, we are ready to serve our nation.”
The State party executive members were also affirmed through voice vote and sworn in on behalf of the National Chairman by the Southwest Chairman, Eyiowuawi Ishaq.
Eyiowuawi noted that Nigerians are desirous of a new political party to run the affairs of the country and the party is out to prove its worth.
In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn in State Chairman of the party, Dr. Charlse Idowu Omidiji expressed readiness of the party to take over the mantle of leadership in the State.
Dr. Omidiji said his party has demonstrated the capacity to turn around the fortune of the State through youth empowerment which is already its cardinal programme already being enjoyed all over the country.
