The All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State on Thursday welcomed into its folds, a number of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The state chairman of APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun received the defectors in Ila, the country home of the former interim national chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.
This is just as the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola who was on the tour of the federal constituency also received and welcomed the defectors into the party.
Addressing the defectors at the Ila-orangun stadium during the ongoing strategic engagement tour of the constituency, Governor Oyetola promised them equal rights as those they met in the party.
He charged the defectors to be loyal members and work for the progress of the party and especially, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.
Speaking, Prince Famodun said the performance of the Oyetola’s administration led to many members of the opposition joining the party.
He added that the opposition parties in the State would witness mass exodus of members joining the ruling APC in the days to come.
Meanwhile, the tour of the federal constituency had taken the Governor and his entourage to Otan-ile in Boluwaduro Local Government and later to Oke-ile in the headquarters of Ifedayo Local Government Area where he was received by traditional rulers, leaders, members and loyalists of the party.
