The Asiwaju of Ikire land, Mr Bola Oyebamiji has described the passage of prominent Osun Monarch, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi, Oba Yisau Bamitale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu 1 as a loss that can not be replaced in the minds of the people.

Mr Oyebamiji said news of the demise of the king came to him as a rude shock, explaining that the ancient town and environs will greatly miss him.

The Commissioner in a message of condolence made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday said the departed king was a great source of blessing to indigenes and residents of Ikoyi including himself because he taped a lot from his wealth of experience.

He said Ikoyi no doubt witnessed unprecedented growth and development in all the nooks and crannies of the town under the reign of the monarch who has gone to meet his ancestors.

The condolence message reads, “I condole with every son and daughter including every resident of Ikoyi on the passage of our beloved king, Oba Yisau Bamitale who will no doubt be greatly missed because he was a good king. I will personally miss him no doubt because he was a father to me, I learnt so much at his feet.

“I can testify that his thirty five (35) years reign brought a lot of growth and development to the ancient town, the town was extremely peaceful under him.

“Death is inevitable, but we give thanks to almighty Allah who has decided to take you to His side during the holy month of Ramadan, it is a good sign that God is indeed pleased with you.

“On behalf of my entire family, I say goodnight our beloved king. Adieu”. The Asiwaju of Ikire stated.
