Osun NUJ holds 2024 Press Week Public Lecture Tuesday

Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council will tomorrow hold Public Lecture at the NUJ Press Centre Osogbo by Eleven o’clock in the morning

A Statement by the Chairman of Organizing Committee, Comrade Mayowa Fagbohungbe indicates that the Year 2024 Public Lecture with the theme; “2026/2027 Elections: Achieving Credible Electoral Process In Osun State” will be delivered by the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke.

The Statement noted that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Former Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adebayo Ojo is the Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, Special Adviser to Former Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Political Matters, Oluomo Sunday Akere, the Gubernatorial Candidate of Social Democratic Party in the 2022 Osun State Governorship Election, Arc. Goke Omigbodun and the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission(OSIEC), Barr. Hashim Abioye are Special Guests of Honour.

The Statement maintains that the Aragbiji of Iragbiji who also doubles as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun(IV) is the Royal Father of the Day.

The release equally indicates that relevant stakeholders like the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN) amongst others have equally been invited to the parley while the Chairman, Osun NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu will be the Host.

The statement enjoined members of the Union, friends of the Media, Students’ Union, Labour Unions, Civil Society Organizations and Members of the Public to be part of the intellectual event.
