Osun NUJ to bestow last respect on pioneer Chairman, Lekan Awoyemi

The final burial ceremony of the pioneer chairman of Nigeria union of journalists, Osun state council, Mr Lekan Awoyemi would start on Wednesday, 12th of May with Service of songs at his residence, Oke Oniti, Osogbo at 4pm.

 

A statement by the Chairman of the union, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu and Secretary, Comrade Bukola Elufadejin indicated that Wake keep would hold on Thursday at ANCOPPS house, Oke Oniti, Osogbo beginning from 4 o’clock in the evening .

The statement noted that lying in state and tribute service organised by NUJ and League of Veteran Journalists would hold on Friday at NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo by eight o’clock in the morning while funeral service would follow at All souls Anglican church, Oke fia,Osogbo, by 11 o’clock in the morning.

It enjoined members of the union to be part of the burial activities to pay last respect to the pioneer chairman of the union.

Late Lekan Awoyemi who died on march 28 this year retired as Coordinating Director in the Ministry of Information and Civic orientation in the state.
