The newly appointed Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Ola-Oluwa has charged members of staff of the ministry to be more dedicated to their duties.

Olaoluwa spoke while being formally welcomed to his office at the state Ministry of rural development and community affairs.

The former Chairman ,Olorunda local government and one time Chairman of Osun state PDP said he felt elated and appreciative of the warmness of heart and gladness of purpose extended to him by the staff of the Ministry, on arrival.

He noted with interest and satisfaction how the Ministry has remained strategically important if meaningful development is to be made at the grassroots as encapsulated in the 5 point integral action plan of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

OlaOluwa told the staff and management of the ministry of his readiness to bring his wealth of experience to bear having had close rapport for many years with the people of both urban and rural areas before his recent appointment as a commissioner in charge of rural affairs .

He used the opportunity to warn contractor handling any government projects through his ministry to make honesty and sincerity their guiding principles adding that, the era of abandoned projects has gone.

He said “My dear brothers and sisters, the era of business as usual in terms of poor execution and abandonment of projects is over in Osun state Adeleke led administration .

“Honesty and transparency should be the watchwords for any contractor wishing to carry out any project for Osun state government at the grassroots under my purview as Commiissioner ” Concluded Hon.OlaOluwa.”

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Richard Oyegbami had earlier described the Commissioner as a performer who over the years has made his impacts in governance particularly, when he was a local government chairman and at the state level where he was once a Special Adviser on Special Duties in the administration of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Also speaking, the General Manager, Community and Social Development Agency, Mrs Funmi Abokede recalled with nostalgia how the Commissioner made great contributions to the growth and development of rural areas in the past.

As an agency for the grassroots under the supervision of the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Affairs, Mrs Abokede expressed the readiness to work with the new commissioner

She also expressed confidence the commissioner’s ability to deliver as expected by the government and people of Osun state.
