Osun Waste Collectors Commiserate With Osogbo Flood Disaster Victims
The Osun State Waste Collectors under the Private Sector Partnership, PSP arrangement has commiserated with the victims of last Wednesday flood disaster in Osogbo and environs where lives and property were lost.
This is contained in a press statement released by members of the association at the end of their emergency meeting on the sad incidence .
The association agreed with the position of the government that the flood might not be unconnected with act of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in unauthorized places and illegal practice of erecting building on water channels .
While commending the Oyetola led administration for the steps taken so far to prevent flooding in the State, the PSP urge residents of Osun to compliment government efforts towards preventing incidences of flood disaster.
The PSP also called on the federal government to come to the aid of the State government in view of the magnitude of the disaster with a view to mitigating the adverse effects on the victims and constructing standard drainages
It encouraged the people to patronize government licensed waste collector (PSP) to dispose their waste just as it advocated more stringent punishment against environmental sanitation offenders
