Over 900 Farmers Benefit Agricultural Empowerment Facilitated By Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Oluga

No fewer than 900 farmers benefited from agricultural empowerment facilitated and distributed by the lawmaker representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency, Hon Taiwo Oluga.

The beneficiaries include members of various farmers’ associations drawn from across all towns and villages in the constituency.

Speaking during the distribution of the agricultural equipment and fertilizer in Gbongan, the headquarters of Ayedaade local government area of the State on Monday, Hon. Oluga explained that the gesture was borne out of the demands of the famers in her constituency.

“It is based on their request, I moved round to know what exactly do they really need because you cannot be giving cash to them all the time. But what can assist their business and their work. I thank them for giving me the opportunity to represent them and I promise to do more.

“Today, we have members of different farmers’ associations here, irrespective of political parties. We also have some that are carefully selected from towns and villages in Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.”


While assuring them of more benefits to come, the lawmaker promised to work on including other requests of her constituents in the next year budget.

She said “There is always a way around it, we will include it in the budget once it is out, we will do follow up with the contractor that get it to do proper supply to my people. That I hope to do in the next budget for them. I think the fastest one that can help them is what we have done for them.”

Hon. Oluga also hailed previous beneficiaries of her empowerment programme for the judiciously using different kinds of gestured they benefited, saying she did not expect anything less from the latest beneficiaries.

“One thing about my people in this constituency is that, they have been very fantastic when it comes to judicious use of what they benefit. They have proven to be using empowerment benefit judiciously in the past. This is not the first time we are doing empowerment programme for them.

“We have done a lot of sensitization, we have spoken to them on how to you them. It is to alleviate poverty, unemployment and hardship in the constituency.”


The Chairman, all farmers association of Nigeria, Ayedaade chapter, Pastor Elijah Makinde lauded Hon. Oluga for what he described as quality and unprecedented representation.

Another beneficiary, Taiwo Adelani who also appreciated the lawmaker’s efforts both in the areas of empowering the people, skill acquisition for the youth and provision of infrastructure including, solar light, construction of bridges, schools among others.

The beneficiaries went away with sprayers, fertilizer, power generating sets and water pumping machines.
