Oyetola Inaugurates Five Access Roads in Osun, to Embark on Construction of Ten others

Osun State Government is set to embark on construction and rehabilitation of another set of township roads in selected towns across the State.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola dropped the hint during the inauguration of five access road constructed by his administration in Alekuwo area of Osogbo.

The roads were completed within 8 months, from February to September 2020 in spite of the challenges posed by COVID-19 during the period.

Oyetola said, “The completion of these roads despite the Covid-19 challenges is an indication of the seriousness we attach to your welfare and the mileage we are ready to go to take care of your interest”.

He believed the roads would bring about ease of doing business, stimulate accessibility and economic productivity, improve socioeconomic activities and generally improve wellbeing of the people.

The Governor said “to further demonstrate our commitment to massive infrastructure delivery for the socioeconomic development of the state” government would soon embark of construction and rehabilitation of township roads.

He said “we believe that in achieving economic transformation and good life we seek, we need to provide good road network across the state. This is the reason we have been giving attention for the provision of intra city, inter city and rural roads across the State.

According to him, the new township road construction/rehabilitation to be embarked on are Ejigbo, Ido-Osun, Gbongan, ile-ife, Kuta, Inisha, Ila-Orangun and Gof-Orioke Pure Water as well as Hallelujah Estate Osogbo.


Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye commended the State Governor for delivering on his promises despite paucity of funds in addition to the aftermaths of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He urged the people to support the State government in its quest to transform the State.

The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Famodun was of the opinion that chances of the party in future elections are brighter, with the delivery of the roads and other achievements of the present administration.
