Strengthen Security Collaborations – PDP Southwest Nat. Chairman Urges Region’s Governors

The National Vice Chairman, Southwest of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Kamoru Ajisafe, has urged the Southwest governors to strengthen collaborative efforts in the fight against security challenges in the region.

He spoke on Wednesday in Osogbo while fielding questions from a panel of interviewers at the May edition of the Frontliners, a monthly programme of League of Veteran Journalists, Osun State.

Ajisafe emphasized the importance of the governors working together to tackle issues like kidnapping and road attacks, which have been concerning for residents in Southwest states.

He said by collaborating, pooling resources and expertise together would enhance the region’s security architecture and make it a safer place for everyone.

“Our governor in the southwest should come together on our security matter and secure our region from kidnappers or any road attack”, he said.

On 2027, Ajisafe said former vice president Atiku Abubakar has the constitutional right to vye for the party’s ticket to run in the presidential election.

He added that there are many more than qualified personalities who could fly the party’s flag in the presidential election in 2027,saying the more, the merrier.

He said that it’s up to the majority of the party’s delegates to decide who becomes the candidate.

“Under the constitutional in Nigeria, I have the right to contest any election and if Atiku wants to contest he can contest, it’s now left to the majority of the party’s to exercise their franchise, the race is very open for whoever that wants to contest”, he stated.

Speaking on the state of the party in Osun, the PDP National Vice Chairman Southwest said all their members and leaders are together with the State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

He praised the governor for his achievements since assumption of office, saying he was greatly underrated but has lived above board in terms of performance.

“Aside from Barrister Ojo William, all the leaders of the party in Osun, the likes of
Suibu Oyedokun, Cheif Olu Alabi, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Tajudenn Ladipe are with us, they were afraid before because of the performance of Governor Adeleke, but I want to talk on behalf of Suibu Oyedokun, he said that he did tremendously well, also Cheif Olu Alabi said that he was disappointed with the performance of Governor Adeleke that he did well.

“I have been with Governor Adeleke three times and he repeated the same statement for that three times that what the people of the state want from the government is to give them what they deserve before they ask from the government.

“He said that he used to send his commissioners to their constituencies to listen to their people because the people of the constituencies are more important to him than the commissioner and I’m impressed with that statement from the governor”, he said.
