South West Agenda ’23, a political wing within the All Progressives Congress, APC that rallied support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 Presidential Campaign, has commenced distribution of a trailer load of 600 bag of rice in Osun State.

The gesture was said to be personal contributions of some members of SWAGA to complement government palliative aimed at cushioning the effects of subsidy removal.

The distribution was officially flagged off on Tuesday at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign office in Osogbo.

Speaking at the event, National chairman, SWAGA’23 Senator Adedayo Adeyeye told the gathering that the palliative was part of many things they would benefit from the group for their support to the President throughout the campaign period.

“We thank you all, we started SWAGA over 3 years ago, we came to you, remain focused and steadfast and you voted Asiwaju. Asiwaju is now the president.

“This (palliative) is just a tip of the iceberg of what is coming in the future. I thank you all for believing in this project and for enduring all the sacrifice,” he said.

On the state of the economy, Senator Adeyeye assured the people that President Tinubu has the capacity and capability to lead the country out of the present conundrum, saying better days are near.

He said “We told you that he’s (President Tinubu) capable and will reposition Nigeria. He has been doing it and we pray God for his success. It can be a bit tough now, things will come good very soon. He has started the rebuilding and he will succeed.”

Addressing the gathering, the Osun State Coordinator, SWAGA’23, Hon. Ayo Omidiran noted that the palliative was not only for members of the group or the party but for all to benefit.

Omidiran said adequate measures have been put in place to ensure that the palliative was distributed and got to the expected beneficiaries in the various local government areas of the State.

In his remarks, the convener. Oyetunji Ojo acknowledged the enormous task of nation building before President Tinubu with the conviction that he would deliver on the mandate given to him by Nigerians.

He appreciated the people for their support and assured them that the country would witness tremendous growth and development under the leadership of President Tinubu.

He said “We are here to appreciate you.
There is a big task before the president and he’s face that headlong. He’s not been relaxing. Insecurity is gradually coming down and there is a lot of improvement in many sectors.

“This palliative is not only for swaga members because we were not the only people that voted. We are now for everybody not only for swaga members. Let the palliative get round for people to enjoy it.
