Turn around UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital – Oyetola Charges New Board Members

The Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola has urged the newly inaugurated Board Members of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Osogbo, to use their wide experience and expertise to turn around the Teaching Hospital to maximize service delivery that will make the institution a model for all other Teaching Hospitals in the country and beyond.
Governor Oyetola made the charge while swearing the newly inaugurated Board of Management for the hospital.
The Board headed by Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole, former Minister of Health and a seasoned University administrator, consists of versatile and experienced professionals of diverse callings.
According to the Governor, the appointment was the resolve of the current administration to give room for the Tertiary Institution to complement Primary Health Care with a view to achieving adequate, quality and equitable Health care for the people.
He revealed that the selection of the Board Members is in recognition of their exemplary personal leadership qualities as well as their impressive records and service to the State and humanity.
Governor Oyetola therefore enjoined the Board of Management to justify the confidence he has in them.
The Chairman of the new Board for UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Osogbo, Prof. Isaac Adewole in his response at the occasion on behalf of other members, appreciated Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the opportunity to serve the people.
He promised to ensure that the hospital runs smoothly and efficiently by offering high quality, patient-friendly, accessible services to the people of Osun State and its environs in order to make the hospital enviable.
He assured that the Board will not be involved in the daily management of the hospital but will continually give guidance, lay rules and ensure adherence to international standards and practices.
Adewole disclosed that he has prepared a blue print for Members of the Board on how to showcase the hospital as a First Class World Facility to be proud of. He assured the public that the Board will ensure that there will be no strikes in the hospital and the hospital will be self-sufficient and render yearly returns to the State Government including Statement of Finances and Expenditure.
In a brief inaugural meeting immediately after the swearing in, the Chairman enjoined members to work together so as to deliver on the mandate of Governor Oyetola’s administration because he believes that if Governor Oyetola should go for another four years, the State will fly high. He also assured that the Board will meet with all Unions soonest to stretch a hand of fellowship for the harmony of the hospital.
Other Members of the Board include Prof (Mrs) Grace Akinola, Prof Sola Adeeyo, Dr. Bello Tiamiyu Adesina, Prof. Sola Adeeyo, Arch. Olalekan Usman, Mr. Sowade Oluwakayode. Others are Dr. Wasiu Akanmu, Chief (Mrs) C.L. A Ominiyi, Dr. Ajewole Olu, Prof Alebiosu C.Olutayo and Mr Kayode Adegoke.
