UPDATE: Osun Police Recover Body Of Fled Assailant

The Osun State Police command said it has recovered the dead body of one of the fleeing assailants that were repelled on Wednesday.

Daily Mail had reported that a Police tactical team in Osun State on Wednesday successfully repelled attack by some suspected criminal gang with the intent of hijacking some murder suspects who were being taking to Ilesa correctional centre.

A released signed by the spokesperson of the Osun State Police command, Yemisi Opalola stated that one of the fleeing attackers was found dead in the bush with bullets wounds on his body on Thursday,

The release noted that “the police in collaboration with the local security outfits; at the wee hour of today 26/08/2021 while combing the bush, for possible arrest of the fleeing suspects, recovered the dead body of one of the attackers in the bush with bullets wounds on his body.”

“While searching his body, two live cartridges and a paper with incantation written in Yoruba Language with the names of the perpetrators were found in his pocket. His corpse has been evacuated and deposited in the morgue.”
